kidneys: who needs ‘em?

Hey, everybody. So, my kidneys aren’t working right. I’m not days away from dialysis or anything, but the docs are having a heckuva time figuring out why the cleaning staff has decided to work half-time instead of the 24-hour shifts for which they were hired. The last 2.5 months have been a blur of blood work and peeing in a cup (Me: “Honey, the orange jug in the fridge is not apple juice.”) but there is still no consensus on the problem or possible remedies.

If you are the praying kind, I’d be much obliged if you’d put me on your list. I have another appointment with the nephrologist on March 19. Hopefully, I’ll have more definitive news to share then . . .

    Have you considered an ice chest? LIke, with a skull and crossbones on it? Or just the international radiation symbol?

    My 93 yr old mom had stuff like this going on at about your age, and that was with 1940s medical care. She just sent me email today taking me to task for being such a right-winger.
