more prayers needed

Just when I thought I had maybe, just maybe, reached the apex of life’s craziness, I found out yesterday that my grandad—my last living grandparent—has had a heart attack. My bro and I are leaving this morning for the wonderland of Bakersfield to see him. We’ve heard he’s stabilized and his outlook is good, but I’d appreciate your prayers for a full recovery. Update soon . . .

  4. Hi, kids! Gramps is bustin’ outta the joint tomorrow, though it looks like he’s got quite a recovery in front of him. Tim and I saw him on Saturday, and he seemed weak but in good spirits—except when we mentioned that he might want to take it easy on the DAILY eggs, bacon and hashbrowns from the Sugar Mill Diner down the road. Then he got a little huffy.

Thanks for your prayers! I should have some new news on the kidney front some time this week…

  5. Thanks for the update. Hope everyone is in good spirits and ready for the journey (and effort, or self-denial, ahead). Waiting on pins and needles for the kidney update!

  6. Thanks for the update Aly…glad gramps is on the mend!!

  7. I’m a little late to this prayer party, but I’ll be praying nonetheless. Looking forward to an update.

  8. Good update! I’ll keep praying.

I also popped over with a link. You will either love or hate this, but I found it highly amusing. Bullets & Bad Comma: A Tale of Grammar Noir: http://tinyurl.com/djqf2u
